Hello

Peggy is a graduate from Kent State University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, and in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

My Story

Peggy Higgins, BSN, RN, CAISS

Peggy began her nursing career specializing in Emergency Medicine and Trauma in Ft. Lauderdale, FL and continued her training in Charlotte, NC. These experiences have taught her the compassionate nursing skills to care for victims of violence, and the important role a trauma center plays in the health of a community.

Peggy returned to Ohio in 2021 and assumed the role of Trauma Coordinator at Trumbull Regional Medical Center. This role has allowed her to connect with patients and the community in a different way, through outreach and injury prevention. Violence Injury Prevention became a focus as we saw an increase in violent injuries in Trumbull County. In response, the trauma centers have connected with passionate community leaders to offer support to victims and their families with hope that we can decrease recidivism and improve the strength of our community.
